Mobile Commerce, the UK’s leading provider of location-based services (LBS) and mobile content integration, has partnered with National Rail Enquiries to launch the National Rail Enquiries App for the Vodafone 360 app store.
Utilising National Rail Enquires’ definitive information on all passenger rail services on the National Rail network in England, Wales and Scotland, the app provides live departure and arrival information for all National Rail stations. The app also offers a full journey planner for rail routes across the UK, which provides the quickest route for a chosen journey.
As well as offering the type of travel information you’d find on a website, the app uses handset location to display the nearest stations and stores recent stations and journeys. It also includes a real-time progress indicator to show where the train is on the route.
The app is available for Vodafone’s tailor-made touch screen handsets – the Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 and Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 – as well as a range of Android handsets.
Steve Page, Mobile Commerce CEO, said: “We’re delighted to have worked with National Rail Enquires on this app and I believe it will become the most popular app Mobile Commerce has worked on to date. It offers everything the rail traveller needs, in real time, and from the convenience of their phone with just a touch of the screen. We’re looking forward to Vodafone’s customers benefiting from both our expertise in mobile and National Rail enquiries’ comprehensive information service to help make their journeys quicker and easier to plan.”
The National Rail Enquiries app for Vodafone 360 is available from the Vodafone 360 app store for a one off cost of £2.99.
